With the on set of December comes the flu season and along with it the promoting of flu shots. A lot of the hype over the flu is only scare tactics used by those who benefit from selling the flu shots and those making money from the vaccine manufacturers. For example, the regularly quoted urban myth that 36,000 people die from the flu every year is nonsense. The web site of The Centers for Disease Control even states as much. On the other side of the coin and of equal importance, a great number are afflicted by problems from the flu shot, some experience permanent paralyzation and are damaged neurologically. There was a study that found that people over the age of 55 and who get the flu vaccine every year for five years consecutively increase their risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease by ten times. One reason is that the flu shot contains two powerful neurotoxins — mercury (as thimerosal) aluminum. We also know that over-stimulating our immune systems, which the flu vaccine does, causes the immune system in the brains of some of the elderly to overreact, leading to widespread brain injury for a prolonged period. Both physicians and many elderly people have observed that receiving the flu vaccine can cause all the effects of the flu, not to mention the flu itself. The vaccine brochures in physician's offices and pharmacies, which are usually written by the makers of the flu vaccine, deny this is even possible, because the flu virus is a dead virus. That does not change that physicians and their patients know they sometimes get sick after taking the vaccine. So why is this? The manufactures don't reveal how the vaccine reduces immunity, occasionally for as long as two or three weeks to a month. With your immunity not at its peak you are more likely to contract the flu. On top of that, the strong immune boosters in the vaccine (called immune adjuvants) may leave you just as sick as the virus itself. Most people are unaware that the virus itself does not make you feel sick. Instead, it is your body’s immune system reacting to the virus, making you feel horrible. Those who die from the flu are commonly those previously suffering from an unrelated chronic illness, like heart disease, diabetes, or other immune-suppressing diseases including cancer and AIDS. Ironically, these happen to be the same people who have less of a chance of being safe guarded by a vaccine because their immune system has been negatively affected. Media propaganda tells us that the flu shot reduces the approximately 200,000 hospitalizations and 36,000 deaths resulting from influenza. Yet, a study reported in the Archives of Internal Medicine revealed that a decrease in deaths or hospitalizations from influenza could not be associated with vaccination. There are other studies that have shown that the vaccine is effective in only one-third of all vaccinated people. Then we find from more studies that the vaccine is effective in only one-third of all vaccinated people. Therefore 70 percent receive no benefit, even though they have to face the complications of the vaccine. The flu vaccine is being marketed to the public by both good intentioned (yet not completely informed) physicians and companies that stand to profit from selling the vaccine (the not so well meaning). All of us have to choose for ourselves whether to submit to the marketing or to take responsibility for our health. I for one have chosen to opt out of the flu vaccine.
