Getting people to love you means loving yourself first. You have many positive qualities, but it's not always easy to see them in yourself. Self talk that fuels uncertainty and low confidence, on the other hand, causes you to act in ways that creates doubt in others. Facing that little voice in your head is not easy, but it must be done if you want to break the vicious cycle. When you hear the negative messages, you must react to them by reinforcing your own positive messages. Positive self talk is the first and most important step in improving your own self-esteem and self worth. Changing your self image can be a big job. If you'd like extra help or more information, there is a wide selection of self-help CDs, books and videos available on the market. Support groups and self-improvement seminars are great ways to find the personal backing you need to succeed. Use the Internet and search your library or book store for the resources that are available to you. If you try self-improvement methods without success, you should consider speaking with a professional counselor or therapist who is an expert in self-esteem improvement. Combining the strength of personal counseling with the added reinforcement of self-help tools can only improve your chances of success. Your time is valuable. You are valuable. Don't waste another minute listening to the nagging, pessimistic voice in your head. Tell yourself that you are better. Believe that you deserve more. Get ready to start living the life that you deserve.
