Colon cancer can be a killer if not detected early. However, there are several new techniques that have been developed over time that greatly improve the ability to detect the malady. Once you can catch it, you have at least a chance of surviving the condition. It is easy to assume that colon cancer is not as rampant in Canada as in the United States because the recorded figures are not as much. This would be inaccurate though, because the US does have a larger population, hence the larger numbers. You have to catch a colorectal cancer in its early stages. This makes it easier to treat, and for you to stay alive. Missing it at that stage means that the tumor might spread beyond just your intestines to other parts of your bowels. This is why a lot of people die from the disease each year.
