Foreclosure Makes Homes Affordable To Buyers In Dallas, Texas

By: Joseph Smithh

While some people are unlucky to get their property put on foreclosure, others benefit by getting an opportunity to buy a home at an affordable rate. Affordable isn’t even the word, the houses are simply cheap. In Dallas, Texas, there has been a lot of excitement on the foreclosed properties in the area. While the housing market remains stagnant following the country’s economic recession, the foreclosure market seems to do the exact opposite. There has been an increase of sales in foreclosed houses.

The benefits of buying foreclosed property are the main motivation behind this upsurge of buyers of previously occupied homes. Jack Rose, a single mother with two kids says she could not bear living in a rental apartment anymore. She was paying $300 monthly rent in her small apartment in uptown Dallas. After a few weeks of searching for affordable houses, she came across a foreclosed property that was selling at $17,000. She took out her savings and does not regret the decision.

“The feeling that I have my own house and I can do whatever I want with it is just comforting,” she says. “I wake up in the morning, look at the house and smile when I remember I don’t have to pay rent anymore, “she continues.

Just like Rose, many first time home buyers are experiencing the same satisfaction after buying foreclosure homes. The homes are offered at very cheap prices. In fact, some are even sold under $1000. “If there was any better time to buy property, this is the time,” says on of the representative of a leading Dallas realtor firm. Banks are quickly disposing off the foreclosures and in doing so they are accepting very low prices for them. Their aim is to get the foreclosure debts off their books and they will accept any low price for the foreclosure property.
